Job Description
- Assist with the planning and design of HV power transmission and distribution infrastructure from 33kV up to 765kV.
- Assist in preparing the engineering deliverables for electrical overhead powerlines and/or substations.
- Perform the necessary calculations and studies including power systems studies on utility and industrial/commercial power transmission and distribution systems.
- Assist in the development of project design documentation technical specifications perform concept and/or detail design layouts and providing a detail design package that complies with applicable local international and client specifications and standards.
- Engage with other project stakeholders.
- Provide project administrative and coordination support.
- Assist with reviewing technical contract documents and with performing contractor design reviews.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health Safety and the Environment by following the
- Company s Health Safety & Environment Policy and applying Safety Management Systems.
- Assist with identification and analysis of design changes.
- Modify design drawings and update technical documents with design changes.
- Assist with FAT and SAT planning and .
- Provide engineering support during construction.
- Assist with resolving and responding to technical queries from contractors.
- Assist with pre commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary.
- Assist in final handover of documentation as necessary.
- Assist with completing expressions of interests (EOIs) tenders and marketing activities.
- Adherence to the requirements of the Quality Management System.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes and Quality Management System.
Requirements
- BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering/ B. Eng in Electrical Engineering from a recognised SA
- University. (Only applicants with a 4 year Bachelor of Science degree or 4 year Bachelor of
- Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering will be considered for this position)
- Valid Drivers License
- ECSA registration as Candidate Electrical Engineer
- 2 to 4 years post qualification technical experience in electrical transmission and/or distribution in the power utility or renewable energy sector. Eskom Transmission and Distribution infrastructure design experience essential.
