Job Description

Job Specification: CSP Asset and Performance Manager

Location: Johannesburg South Africa
Position Title: CSP Asset and Performance Manager
Reports to: COO Renewables
Contract Type: FullTime
Travel: Frequent international travel required



Job Purpose

The CSP Asset and Performance Manager is tasked with the comprehensive management and optimization of multiple Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants. This senior engineering position focuses on ensuring operational excellence financial performance and longterm sustainability through collaboration with plant teams and the application of technical expertise.



Key Responsibilities

  • Forecasts and Budgets: Develop and manage annual KPIs and production forecasts while overseeing production budgets to align with financial objectives.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs and manage spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
  • Outage Management: Plan and manage scheduled and unscheduled outages; analyse root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Operational Excellence: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and facilitate the implementation of best practices across plant operations.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health safety and environmental regulations conducting safety audits and training programs.
  • Plant Optimization: Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and monitor teams to guide them toward optimal performance.
  • Fault Analysis: Lead initiatives for faultfinding and root cause analyses documenting findings to improve plant reliability.
  • Modelling and Analysis: Develop performance models and conduct production analyses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in engineering (Mechanical Electrical or related field); advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 15 years in CSP plant operations or the related energy sector with proven expertise in asset management and plant optimization.
  • Skills: Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking capabilities; excellent leadership and communication skills; proficiency in relevant software and modelling techniques.
