- Ensure compliance with all applicable local state and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management.
- Conduct regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with external agencies such as regulatory authorities and waste disposal facilities to ensure proper waste management practices are followed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all hazardous waste management activities including waste inventories disposal manifests and regulatory reports.
- Operate and maintain Hazardous Waste Treatment equipment in accordance with DEC/DEP permit requirements.
- Knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures related to hazardous materials incidents.
- Strong knowledge of local state and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management.
- Exceptional understanding of hazardous waste storage transportation and disposal techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a challenging environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous waste management / treatment or a similar role.
- Certification in hazardous waste management or related fields (e.g. Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response DOT Hazardous Material Handling) preferred.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations (i.e. RCRA)
- High School Education or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
