Job Description

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local state and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with external agencies such as regulatory authorities and waste disposal facilities to ensure proper waste management practices are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all hazardous waste management activities including waste inventories disposal manifests and regulatory reports.
  • Operate and maintain Hazardous Waste Treatment equipment in accordance with DEC/DEP permit requirements.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures related to hazardous materials incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of local state and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management.
  • Exceptional understanding of hazardous waste storage transportation and disposal techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a challenging environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous waste management / treatment or a similar role.
  • Certification in hazardous waste management or related fields (e.g. Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response DOT Hazardous Material Handling) preferred.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations (i.e. RCRA)
  • High School Education or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
