Responsibilities
- The installation and servicing of cabling infrastructure and audio/visual devices including prewiring installation termination testing reporting and labeling according to specifications and drawings.
- The installation of audio/visual equipment such as audio and video conferencing equipment distributed audio digital signage sound reinforcement control systems and all presentation systems.
- System programming and commissioning using Crestron Toolbox Extron Tollbelt and Tesira software to establish connections with devices.
- Up device IDs and IP addresses and maintain and update spreadsheets for programmers.
- Maintain efficiency in onsite activities and goals keeping the project team motivated.
- Coach and train other Technicians.
- Program files and update firmware for various devices.
- Racks and implements strong cable management practices.
- Interpret system diagrams and construction drawings.
- Safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Administrative duties including project updates to Project Managers and completing and filing all project documentation.
Be required to be oncall before or after your regularly scheduled hours and/or on a day when you are not regularly scheduled to work.
Maintain relationships with clients and prospects for future opportunities.
Requirements
Desired Skills & Experience
- Progressive experience in installing and maintaining complex AudioVisual systems in a commercial environment.
- Preferred experience working in the hospitality healthcare and/or postsecondary industries.
- Conventional commercial AV technical stac: Crestron NVX QSC Qsys Biamp ClearOne Dante Shure etc.
- Preferred certifications in CTS CTSI Extron AV Associate Biamp Tesira Forte Biamp AV Lab and Crestron Professional Installation.
- Flexibility to work in various environments from construction sites to finished corporate offices.
- Must have a valid Driver s License and a clean driving record.
Requirements: University graduate or equivalent experience with further studies in AV installation, data or voice communications, or drafting. Minimum of 4 years' experience in an electrical and/or communications environment. Understanding of project management practices and customer service obligations. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, communications, and computer products and equipment. Proficiency in oral and written English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Familiarity with building construction and blueprint reading. Experience with the AV Commercial Integrator Navigate system, specifically for change orders and delay notices feedback to the Project Manager. CTS-I Certification Preferred
