Audiovisual Staging Commissioning Engineer
Location: Fairfax VA
Are you passionate about ensuring topnotch quality and precision in AV systems As an Audiovisual Staging Commissioning Engineer you will be the linchpin between our staging area and installation sites playing a crucial role in the success of every project. Working under the guidance of our Director of Operations and Integration you will be responsible for interpreting design specs configuring AV equipment and troubleshooting technical issues. Your attention to detail and ability to document and resolve challenges will be key to delivering outstanding results.
Primary Duties:
- Properly checking equipment in and out of the warehouse.
- Unboxing and reboxing equipment for testing and configuration.
- Loading firmware code DSP files and other hardware configurations.
- Documenting all required hardware information and settings.
- Fully setting up AV systems testing troubleshooting updating and retesting systems until they operate at peak performance meeting the stated customer requirements.
- Troubleshooting issues and working with the proper vendor and/ or internal resources to determine root causes.
- Processing vendorrelated RMAs.
- Backing up final code versions and system documentation.
- Communicate project status and lessons learned to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with adding and documenting consumables to projects so installation teams have a complete executable equipment package when they arrive onsite.
- The ability to act on supervisor instructions.
- Assist the Staging Area Rack Fabricator with maintaining the staging area s cleanliness organization and consumables stock.
Requirements
Education/Certifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED or equivalent training and work experience.
- AVIXA CTS
- OSHA 10
- Valid driver s license
Experience and Skills:
- At least 4 years of experience in the AV/VTC industry in a relevant role.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
- Working knowledge of a wide range of audio video and networking equipment and software including Biamp Crestron Extron AMX QSC and Cisco.
- Familiarity with industry best practices.
- Ability to read and work from AV and general construction drawings.
- Reliability in meeting project schedules and adapting to changing priorities.
- Competence in system configuration software installation and hardware installation of common AV equipment in a production environment.
- Ability to safely use power and hand tools.
- Understanding of low voltage electrical installation practices and concepts.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs bend squat kneel and work on ladders for extended periods.
- Ability to pass background checks and work in secure government facilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
Requirements: University graduate or equivalent experience with further studies in AV installation, data or voice communications, or drafting. Minimum of 4 years' experience in an electrical and/or communications environment. Understanding of project management practices and customer service obligations. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, communications, and computer products and equipment. Proficiency in oral and written English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Familiarity with building construction and blueprint reading. Experience with the AV Commercial Integrator Navigate system, specifically for change orders and delay notices feedback to the Project Manager. CTS-I Certification Preferred
