Job Description

An audit and accountancy practice who provide expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals in Central and Southern England wants to hire a versatile Service Charge Accountant.

The Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare service charge accounts. That is accounting for properties
  • Liaising with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Raising service charge invoices to tenants based on uploaded budgets.
  • Preparing monthly reports for leasehold officers.
  • Conducting yearend account reconciliations.
  • Holding monthly meetings to ensure accurate expenditure coding.
  • Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers Directors and clients
  • Preparing statutory accounts under UK and International GAAP and finalize accounts under the overall supervision of your Line Manager
  • Maintain up to date and relevant technical knowledge of the industry and economic issues
  • Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required
  • Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training

Requirements

About You

  • Preference for HND or University degree in accounting with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Bookkeeping experience.
  • Fully fluent in English with proven communication skills both written and verbal
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly
  • A positive confident and proactive attitude
  • Create a positive impression with clients and staff
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight timeframes with high quality output
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and selfmotivated
  • Able to work within procedures on job aspects which will deal with facts standards and quality
