ACCOUNTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Accra

Industry: Manufacturing/Retail

Job Type: Parttime

Reports to: Managing Director


Our client is a leading brand in the food and beverage industry in Ghana and Africa.


Scope


The Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounts team reconciling bank statements and employee expenditures preparing and examining financial records and generating financial reports.


Key Responsibilities


  • Reconcile the company s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Reconcile and complete analysis of the employee expenditures.
  • Manage income and expenditure accounts.
  • Generate the company s financial reports using income and expenditure data.
  • Monitor and check the company s finances based on financial status.
  • File and remit taxes and other financial obligations.
  • Initiate and manage the companys financial and accounting software.
  • Oversee Accounts team and present monthly financial reports to Directors.
  • Work handinhand with MD and provide timely and relevant financial interventions.


Requirements

Requirements

  • A bachelor s degree in business administration Finance or Accounting or any related field of study.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role or its equivalent.
  • Certification in ACCA CPA or Certified Financial Analyst and relevant experience in a management role is preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) pertaining to Ghana.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks etc
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to draw up budgets based on income and expenditure accounts.
  • Experience in general ledger function and internal and external auditing.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite such as Excel Word etc
