Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating patients to determine the need for surgical intervention
- Performing surgical procedures with precision and expertise
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Providing preoperative and postoperative care to patients
- Assessing and managing surgical complications
- Participating in surgical research and keeping abreast of advancements in the field
- Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff and trainees
- Ensuring compliance with medical and ethical standards
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
- Attending departmental and clinical meetings to contribute to policy development
Required Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in General Surgery
- Licensure to practice as a surgeon in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience as a General Surgeon preferably in a consultant role
- Advanced knowledge of surgical techniques and procedures
- Excellent decisionmaking and problemsolving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Understanding of patient safety and quality improvement principles
- Ability to maintain composure in highpressure situations
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities
- Adherence to ethical and professional standards of conduct
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in oncall duties
