Key Responsibilities:
1. Pattern Development: Create accurate digital and manual patterns for garments
across various categories using both traditional methods and advanced pattern
making software like Lectra.
2. Digital Pattern Making: Utilize Lectra software to design and modify patterns as per
design and fit requirements. Ensure precise grading and marker making for optimized
fabric utilization.
3. Manual Pattern Making: Develop detailed manual patterns when needed ensuring
precision and consistency.
4. Fit Adjustments & Alterations: Collaborate with designers and the production team to
interpret sketches specifications and measurements to ensure proper fit and
construction of garments.
5. Sample Development: Assist in the development and finalization of garment samples
ensuring that patterns translate well from concept to finished product.
6. Quality Control: Maintain quality standards throughout the patternmaking process
by reviewing designs and ensuring accuracy in sizes proportions and details.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with the design production and sewing teams to ensure
the patterns are productionready with proper cutting layouts for mass production.
8. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve patternrelated issues during sampling and
production including fit sizing and sewing problems.
9. Fabric Knowledge: Understand the characteristics of different fabrics and how they
impact the patternmaking process ensuring that patterns are adapted accordingly.
Required Skills:
Expertise in Lectra: Proficiency in Lectra patternmaking software including grading
marker making and fabric optimization.
Manual Pattern Making: Strong manual patternmaking skills with the ability to create
patterns from scratch or modify existing ones based on specifications.
Garment Construction Knowledge: Deep understanding of garment construction
and sewing techniques.
ProblemSolving: Ability to troubleshoot design or production issues related to pattern
accuracy garment fit or construction.
Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in pattern creation to ensure highquality
end products.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pattern maker in the
fashion/apparel industry.
Software Knowledge: Expertise in Lectra or similar patternmaking software.
Experience in other tools (e.g. Gerber Optitex) is a plus.
Education: A diploma or degree in fashion design pattern making or a related field
is preferred.
