SAP FICO Consultant/Specialist

Position Overview: The SAP FICO Consultant/Specialist is responsible for implementing configuring and supporting the Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules within SAP. This role involves working closely with finance teams to ensure that SAP solutions align with business requirements as well as providing ongoing support and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. SAP FICO Implementation:

    • Lead or participate in SAP FICO implementation projects including system configuration data migration and testing.
    • Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
    • Configure SAP FI (General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Asset Accounting etc.) and CO (Cost Center Accounting Profit Center Accounting Internal Orders etc.) modules to meet business needs.
  2. System Configuration and Customization:

    • Customize SAP FICO modules to enhance functionality and improve processes.
    • Set up and maintain financial structures such as chart of accounts cost centers and profit centers.
    • Configure integration with other SAP modules (e.g. MM SD) to ensure seamless data flow across the system.
  3. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Develop and generate financial reports including balance sheets profit and loss statements and cash flow statements using SAP tools.
    • Ensure that financial reports comply with relevant accounting standards (e.g. GAAP IFRS).
    • Analyze financial data to support decisionmaking and provide insights to management.
  4. Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Provide ongoing support for SAP FICO users addressing issues related to system functionality data integrity and financial processes.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within SAP FICO modules.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for system errors and implement corrective actions.
  5. User Training and Documentation:

    • Train endusers and finance teams on SAP FICO functionalities and processes.
    • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including user manuals process flows and configuration guides.
    • Stay updated on new SAP releases and enhancements and educate users on new features.
  6. Integration and Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other SAP module specialists (e.g. SAP MM SD) to ensure smooth integration of financial processes across the organization.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to implement system upgrades patches and enhancements.
    • Coordinate with external consultants and vendors as needed for specialized support.
  7. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure that SAP FICO configurations and processes comply with internal controls audit requirements and regulatory standards.
    • Assist in financial audits by providing necessary data and reports from the SAP system.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to financial data management within SAP.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Information Technology or a related field.
  • SAP FICO certification is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with SAP FICO modules including configuration and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with data migration system testing and enduser training.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of integration points between SAP FICO and other SAP modules (e.g. MM SD) is a plus.
