Overview
As a Team Lead for Finance & Accounting you will play a critical role in leading a team of finance professionals to achieve departmental goals. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance and accounting team ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing strategic guidance to improve the organizations financial performance.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of finance and accounting professionals to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations
- Review and analyze financial data including budgets income statements and variance analysis to provide accurate and timely financial reporting
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support financial decisionmaking and strategic planning
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
- Provide guidance and training to team members to support their professional development and improve overall team performance
- Manage the monthend and yearend close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Participate in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets and forecasts
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to drive continuous improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices
- Lead special projects and initiatives to support the overall financial goals of the organization
- Resolve complex accounting issues and discrepancies in a timely and effective manner
- Act as a liaison between the finance team and senior management to communicate financial performance and make strategic recommendations
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment within the finance and accounting team
- Ensure adherence to internal policies external regulations and financial reporting requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Proven experience (5 years) in finance and accounting with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role
- Indepth knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and reporting standards
- Strong understanding of financial analysis budgeting and forecasting processes
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate coach and mentor a team
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities with high attention to detail
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to present complex financial information clearly
- Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Keen business acumen and the ability to make sound financial decisions
