This is a remote position.
As a Joinery Drafter you will be responsible for translating design specifications and architectural plans into accurate and detailed manufacturing instructions for the production of custom joinery products. Your expertise in Cabinet Vision will be vital in ensuring the seamless translation of designs
into practical and functional joinery solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpretation of Design Specifications: Review architectural plans design drawings and customer requirements to understand project specifications and design intent.
- Cabinet Vision Utilisation: Utilise Cabinet Vision software to create accurate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings for joinery products including cabinets shelves doors and other custom elements.
- Material Optimisation: Optimise material usage by making efficient use of panels and sheets to minimize waste and maximize costeffectiveness.
- Product Documentation: Generate comprehensive and detailed production documentation including cutting lists material schedules assembly instructions and hardware requirements.
- Collaborative Communication: Liaise with designers project managers and production teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of design intent technical requirements and project timelines.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of manufacturing drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends software advancements and best practices related to joinery design and manufacturing and implement improvements in processes and workflows.
- Problemsolving: Identify and address design and manufacturing challenges proposing practical solutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a Joinery Drafter preferably with a focus on custom joinery projects.
- Experience using CABINET VISION software is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Cabinet Vision software including 3D modelling material optimisation and generating manufacturing drawings.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of joinery manufacturing processes materials and hardware. Proficient in reading architectural plans and design drawings.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate translation of design specifications into manufacturing instructions.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders including designers project managers and production teams.
- Problemsolving Abilities: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to identify and address design and manufacturing challenges.
- Time Management: Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on industry advancements and trends and ability to implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
