Flexographic Print Manager

FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINT MANAGER (Mobeni Durban)

Market leading print and packaging group are seeking an experienced Flexographic Print Manager for their operation in Mobeni.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage and lead the flexographic printing team including press operators supervisors and support staff.
2. Oversee all aspects of the flexographic printing process from job setup and colour matching to final output. Ensure production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
3. Monitor the performance of printing equipment coordinate regular maintenance and troubleshoot any mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
4. Implement and maintain strict quality control processes including regular inspections and audits to ensure consistent print quality and adherence to customer specifications.
5. Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
6. Provide ongoing training and development for the printing team to ensure they are skilled in the latest techniques and technologies in flexographic printing.
7. Ensure that all operations comply with health and safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the department.
8. Oversee the inventory of printing materials including inks plates and substrates to ensure adequate supply levels while minimizing excess.
9. Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to understand client needs and expectations. Participate in customer meetings and press checks as required.
10. Generate and analyse production reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) identify areas for improvement and communicate results to senior management.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Grade 12
2. Be an EE candidate
3. Tertiary qualification in printing technology (an added advantage)
4. 5 years experience in flexographic printing
5. 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a flexographic environment
6. Deep understanding of flexographic printing processes colour management and printing equipment.
7. Proven ability to manage and motivate a team with a track record of improving department performance.
8. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to make quick decisions in a fastpaced environment.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members management and customers.
10. High level of accuracy and attention to detail particularly in quality control and process management.
11. Be fully computer literate with a proficiency in using production management software and MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
