Job Title: Education Specialist Teacher Location: Pittsburg CA Position Overview: The School District in Pittsburg CA is seeking a qualified and dedicated Education Specialist Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and will be committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that meets the unique needs of each student. Key Responsibilities: -
Instructional Planning and Delivery: - Develop and deliver individualized instruction based on students’ IEPs.
- Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

IEP Development and Implementation: - Collaborate with general education teachers parents and other professionals to develop review and update IEPs.
- Monitor and document students’ progress toward IEP goals adjusting instruction as necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings providing input on students’ strengths needs and progress.

Classroom Management: - Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to address and support students’ socialemotional needs.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom that fosters respect and cooperation among students.

Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with general education teachers to support students’ inclusion in the general education setting.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with school staff including counselors psychologists and other support personnel to ensure comprehensive student support.

Assessment and Reporting: - Conduct assessments to identify students’ academic and functional strengths and needs.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of student progress IEPs and other required documentation.
- Prepare and present reports during IEP meetings and parent conferences.

Professional Development: - Stay informed of best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Engage in school and district initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share strategies and resources for effective teaching.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential.
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a K12 setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws IEP development and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.
- Commitment to creating a positive inclusive and supportive learning environment.
