Job Description

Job Title: Senior Property Tax Analyst

Location: Rochester NY 14423

Salary: $80000 $90000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation review and filing of property tax returns ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations.
  • Analyze property tax assessments bills and liabilities to ensure accuracy and identify potential savings opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of property tax strategies to minimize the companys tax burden.
  • Maintain accurate records of property tax payments filings and related documentation.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external consultants to gather necessary information and resolve property tax issues.
  • Conduct research and analysis on property tax laws and regulations to keep the company informed of changes that may impact its tax obligations.
  • Support audits and appeals by preparing documentation and representing the companys interests.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management on property tax matters and financial impact.

MustHaves:

  1. Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Business or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in property tax tax accounting or a similar role.
  3. Onsite Requirement: Ability to work onsite in Rochester NY for 34 days per week.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of property tax laws regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to nonexperts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or progress toward certification.
  • Experience in a corporate tax environment with a focus on multistate property tax.
