Job Description
Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation between Gujarati and English languages in person via telephone or video conferencing.
- Ensure clear and complete communication while maintaining impartiality and confidentiality.
- Translate written documents from Gujarati to English and vice versa.
- Convey the tone and style of the speaker to maintain effective communication.
- Understand and adhere to the industrys Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Remain neutral and unbiased during interpretation avoiding personal opinions or interjections.
- Clarify and explain cultural differences to promote crosscultural understanding.
- Stay updated with relevant industry terminology and jargon to ensure accurate interpretation.
- Manage and organize interpretation appointments effectively.
- Provide support to clients by navigating cultural differences and ensuring their understanding of the information being communicated.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluency in both Gujarati and English languages.
- Proven experience in interpretation or translation roles.
- Knowledge of cultural nuances and sensitivities.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong time management and organization abilities.
- Understanding of industryspecific terminology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and neutrality.
- Completion of interpreter training programs or relevant certifications.
- Understanding of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice in interpretation.
