Job Description

Beacon Engineered Solutions a subsidiary of Beacon Manufacturing Group is a leading provider of custom engineered precision injection molded plastic products solutions and services located in Alexandria MN. With a reputation for supplying quality molded products and assembled components along with exceptional service and delivery performance Beacon Engineered Solutions is well positioned for success and looking to leverage its manufacturing and engineering services capabilities to achieve its aggressive growth plans.

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in the Companys business development and marketing efforts delivering key sales initiatives and priorities and implementing specific plans to support the Companys growth strategy and valuecreation plans. This position will be involved in defining and targeting attractive markets and identifying developing and closing new sales leads to expand and diversify the Companys sales of custom engineered molded products and services. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Engineering Services the Business Development Manager will manage and maintain their segment of the Companys sales pipeline use a stagegate process to manage business development projects utilize marketing and sales tools to promote the Companys capabilities and participate in the usage of our CRM system. This position will be home based and ideally located near a major airport to visit potential prospects and OEM customers throughout North America.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate qualify and pursue new leads and opportunities in targeted enduse markets.
  • Identify and pursue new and attractive highvalue enduse markets that leverage the Companys design engineering custom molding component assembly and secondary services capabilities.
  • Identify prospects and add new highvalue sales opportunities to the Companys sales pipeline.
  • Use the consultative selling approach to develop and close targeted sales opportunities to expand the Companys sales of custom molded products and valueadded secondary services.
  • Achieve annual sales growth targets and business development objectives.
  • Utilize the Companys stagegate process to effectively manage and prioritize business development projects.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a marketing strategy to achieve the Companys sales growth plans.
  • Support the use of the Companys CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Provide weekly business development and sales pipeline updates to the Vice President of Sales & Engineering Services.
  • Keep abreast of and provide updates on key industry trends & drivers new market opportunities and molding technology developments.
  • Work in collaboration with the Companys Project Engineers to provide material selection recommendations design and engineering assistance and program management support to targeted accounts and newly acquired customers.
  • Build strong relationships and strategic partnerships with targeted OEMs and key suppliers.
  • Participate in trade associations and attend industry events conferences and trade shows.
  • Evaluate prioritize and followup on assigned inquiries and potential sales opportunities from the Companys website and other outreach efforts.
  • Identify cross selling opportunities with new and prospective OEM customers.
  • Assist in the development implementation and use of sales and marketing tools to promote the Companys diverse molding and broadbased services capabilities.
  • Help maintain the Companys website and explore new approaches for using the website to generate qualified leads and proactively promote the Companys brand.

Education Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 515 years of business development program management marketing and technical sales experience preferably in injection molding.
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable sales growth and successfully leading managing and commercializing new business development projects across many enduse markets.
  • Ability to identify new growth markets potential leads and close targeted sales opportunities.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and effectively engage collaborate and consult with OEM customers.
  • Personable passionate and highly motivated with a strong bias for solving problems finding solutions creating value and delivering results.
  • Broad knowledge of plastics materials injection molding and related plastics conversion processes applications and enduse markets.
  • Trustworthy reliable organized selfmotivated and resourceful.
  • Ability to multitask and comfortable working in a dynamic fastpaced environment having tight deadlines and high expectations.
  • Team player with high energy strong work ethic and positive cando attitude.
  • Analytical disciplined processoriented and uses facts to make decisions and solve complex technical problems and challenges.
  • Handles adversity pressure and challenges in a calm and rational way.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate guidance and direction.
  • Experienced using Microsoft Office applications especially Excel Word Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly up to 50%.
