Senior Care Assistant (Bank/Flex). The Oaks Care Home

  • £13.68 per hour
  • 08:0020:00 / 20:0008:00 shifts available to cover

Excellent opportunity for a dedicated hardworking individual interested in working at The Oaks Care Home Sandstone Care Group’s purposebuilt nursing and residential home in Newtown Powys.

This stunning 73bedded luxury home opened its doors in January 2020 and offers its residents stateoftheart facilities unrivalled in the area to include a coffee shop / bistro hair & nail salon separate dining and lounge areas activities room and landscaped gardens whilst at the same time providing exceptional standards of care supported by the very latest care planning and nursecall technology.

We are recruiting a wide range of skill sets to enhance the care we give to our residents and as a forwardthinking team with so many exciting things coming ahead the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic to be part of this ongoing journey.

As a Senior Care Assistant at our home your role may involve:

  • Undertaking any necessary training
  • Supporting our residents with personal care and hygiene eating and getting involved with daily activities
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting our residents to live an enriched and fulfilled life focussed on their individual hobbies preferences and abilities
  • Maintaining high standards within the care home environment
  • Seniorlevel duties to support the Home Manager which may involve: staff supervisions appraisals recordkeeping liaising with outside professionals interviewing etc.
  • Varied shifts on the residential floor and the dementia floor

*Overtime is paid for working over fulltime hours. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’. Advertised pay rates are for shifts worked from 1st April 2023.

What are we looking for

  • Supervisory/leadership experience in a residential or nursing home setting
  • A positive outlook and warm personality
  • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or willing to work towards
  • Confident in recordkeeping and the use of various technologies
  • Able to remain calm and guide colleagues under pressure
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns according to the needs of our residents
