Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Dairy Cattle Farmer to join our team on a fulltime permanent basis. As a Dairy Cattle Farmer you will be responsible for the daily care and management of our dairy herd ensuring the health and welfare of the animals while maintaining high milk production levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily care and management of the dairy herd including feeding milking and general health checks

Monitor milk production levels and ensure the herd is meeting production targets

Maintain accurate records of herd health milk production and breeding activities

Implement and maintain herd health and biosecurity protocols

Identify and treat any health issues or injuries in the herd

Assist with breeding and calving activities

Maintain a clean and hygienic milking environment

Operate and maintain farm equipment including tractors and milking machines

Assist with general farm maintenance and repairs as needed

Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Required Qualification & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Animal Science Animal Husbandry and/or Veterinary Medicine
  • At least 3 years of recent and relevant experience in a mediumtolarge commercial dairy farm

Other Skills:

  • Ability to work with a team and/or independently with less supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • With a good English test score is an advantage (minimum PTE score 36 or IELTS 5.0)
  • Experience in Canada Japan Demark USA and New Zealand is an advantage
  • Proven experience in managing a dairy herd and achieving high milk production levels
  • Knowledge of dairy cattle health and welfare practices
  • Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in all weather conditions
  • Must have a valid Drivers license
