Technical Lead - Full Stack

As Technical Lead you will report to the Head of Engineering whilst working closely with a Product Owner Software Architect and other Technical Leads.Here at VoCoVo our Software Engineering teams develop our SaaS offerings which run on our cloud computing platform. In addition to thesoftware that runs on our large estate of hardware products onprem at our customer stores. This particular team play acritical role in establishing the orchestration layer that will be used for installation and updating of the software on instore controller hardware.

Requirements for Technical Lead Full Stack

The following are desirable but we do not expect you have them all:

• Strong handson experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with Node.js.
• Previous experience as a Technical Lead/Line Manager and an appreciation for the importance of career progression planning.
• Excellent communication skills (ability to explain complex concepts clearly) and a leadership style based upon a foundation of empathy and humbleness.
• Strong experiencewith modern frontend development tools and libraries such as React.
• Prior experience ofleading/having a significant impactuponthe design development testing and maintenance of a large software project.
• Design and maintenance of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• An understanding of Microservice and Monolith patterns and migration strategies.
• Containerisation experience(Docker/Kubernetes)and a strong appreciation of CI/CD.

Nice to have skills for Technical Lead Full Stack

• Experience working with fleets of IoT hardware or similar challenges around remote systems even as a personal project.
• Writing or integrating authentication and account systems such as OAuth SAML LDAP AD.
• Cloud experience (ideally Azure) experience with any modern cloud technology is appreciated.
• An understanding of MQTT messaging protocol (Sparkplug).
  
• Experience with eventdriven systems (State machine).
• API Implementation and utilisation.

Responsibilities as Technical Lead Full Stack

• Contribution as a key member of the technical leadership team for Product Development alongside successful collaborationwith Architects and Team Leads to make and record evidencebased architectural decisions.
• Day to day management of a team of up to 5 Software Engineers and 1 QA Engineer whilst also mentoring less experienced engineers and impacting across other teams.
• Building and leading the team whilst enabling themto thrive within an enjoyable supportive and fun working environment.
• Owning and taking responsibility for the endtoend development of software applications and the development of robust and scalable JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Contributing towards the technical roadmap researching new solutions (producing demos/POCs) and spearheading high standards of what does good look like.
• Liaise closely with the Systems Engineering team who provide the Linux platform for the onprem hardware applications.
• Ensure that release management processes are suitable for managing multiple release channels to accommodate the varied populations of hardware at customer premises.
• Conducting code reviews and championing high coding standards to maintain code quality.
