Job Summary:


Primary Objective of the Role:

  • Lead the team to meet business effectively and efficiently and governance requirements.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring that all costs are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, profit and loss, report preparation, and other statements.
  • Develop and document business processes to improve the overall accuracy of data flow in reports, liaise with stakeholders, and serve as a business partner to assist in decision-making.
  • Participate in the review of accounting policies and procedures, as well as operational strategies, including process and system changes.
  • Assist team members in advancing their careers and achieving their full potential while also providing them with the tools, opportunities, and empowerment they need to accomplish corporate goals.


Key Skills:
  • Finance functions technical skills: AR, AP, payroll, general accounting, month end close, intercompany, treasury, P&L.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and environments.
  • Experience in optimizing processes and increasing efficiency.
  • Interpersonal and motivational skills; capable of building relationships across the organisation.
  • Analytical and capable of reading data and reports to assess complex information
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, developing, and managing an effective Team
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet competing deadlines
  • Results orientation with an ability to collaborate with different individuals across the organization, and roll-up the sleeves in order to accomplish all necessary tasks



Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting/Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in Australian general accounting
  • Experience in handling complex account reconciliations
