As a Chief Technician Virtual Infrastructure you will:
- Ensure seamless operation and upkeep of IaaS services both onpremises and in cloud environments.
- Perform system administration tasks for assigned IaaSrelated systems.
- Identify and promptly troubleshoot issues assisting in their timely resolution.
- Follow change management processes and update network topology diagrams and the CMDB as needed.
- Provide advice and support to the IaaS Service Area Owner (SAO) and Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) throughout the capability lifecycle.
- Foster close coordination with IaaS management to ensure harmonized efforts.
- Monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Contribute to the development of processes SOPs and SOIs for IaaS services.
- Prepare reports briefings and presentations for senior management during project phases.
- Undertake ad hoc tasks related to the business areas responsibilities.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 4 years postrelated experience or a secondary educational qualification with 6 years postrelated experience.
- Practical proficiency in both onpremises and cloud technologies (both public and private).
- Familiarity with the operations and standards of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) including physical and virtual servers VMware hypervisor and storage devices.
- Handson experience with virtualization using VMWare ESXi blade and rackmount servers and Hyperconverged Infrastructure (vSAN).
- Proficiency in managing softwaredefined storage systems.
- Competence in working with Linux and Windows operating systems including Active Directory (A.D.) hardening and patching.
- Practical experience in public and private cloud environments covering IaaS PaaS SaaS and cloud monitoring and optimization.
- Familiarity with at least one of the following containerization solutions: OpenShift Docker Kubernetes or Tanzu.
You should possess the ability to:
- Function effectively within a team provide IT support and resolve technical issues.
- Stay updated on advancements in IaaS technologies.
- Document current designs and configurations.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
