Location: Jeddah

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and creative Assistant Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As an Assistant Pastry Chef you will be responsible for assisting the Head Pastry Chef in the preparation baking and presentation of a variety of pastries desserts and other baked goods. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen adhere to food safety regulations and contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items. This role requires excellent time management skills the ability to follow detailed instructions and a strong commitment to quality and consistency. You will work closely with other members of the kitchen staff to ensure that all pastries and desserts meet our high standards of taste and presentation. Additionally you will be involved in inventory management ordering supplies and ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Pastry Chef.
  • Ensure all baked goods meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistency.
  • Decorate pastries and desserts to enhance presentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of special orders and catering events.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Assist in the daily setup and breakdown of the pastry station.
  • Participate in regular kitchen meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist in the preparation of doughs batters and fillings.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and baked goods.
  • Assist in the preparation of glutenfree and allergenfree items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Pastry Chef.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen preferably in a pastry or baking role.
  • Strong understanding of baking techniques and ingredients.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required.
  • Creativity and a passion for pastry arts.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to adapt to changing menu items and kitchen needs.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Ability to decorate pastries and desserts with precision.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and ordering supplies.
