Incumbent will implement an anadromous fish monitoring and evaluation project for the Hood River Production Program. Field duties include operating adult and juvenile fish traps; marking fish with various tags; tracking fish movements with PIT and radio telemetry equipment; measuring presence and abundance of salmonoids in the wild using snorkel, electrofishing and spawning surveys; water quality and quantity measurements; hatchery smolt quality measurements. Incumbent will also be responsible for data summary, data analysis and technical report writing. Will assist with other Hood River projects, including environmental education and stream habitat restoration, to help fulfill the CTWS mission to restore salmon and steel head fisheries in the Hood River Basin.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in fisheries science or closely related field and at least 3 years of related experience, or Bachelors Degree in fisheries science or closely related field and at least 5 years of related experience.
- Must have a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
- Good interpersonal skills. Able to follow detailed directions both written and oral.
- Required to receive and pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
