**Local Richmond VA candidates required due to onsite requirement
**Candidates must possess a clean driving record (this will be verified) as their job involves field work within the state of VA driving either a leased or a state vehicle
**Candidates must maintain insurance coverage during this engagement (this will be verified)
**Candidate must be able to pay for room/board while travelling to be reimbursed by VDOT. Gas card provided for gas only
**Travel may include some overnights with notice

for the Information Technology department. Which at times may require statewide travel withan occasional overnight stay to perform work.

The selected candidate will design direct reviewimplement improve engineer and cable (network/voice). The selected candidatewill work with vendors to develop and implement solutions develop policies andguidelines troubleshoot major/minor network failures analyze networkcapacity manage vendor relationships support agreements and validate networkbilling related to all aspects of the network based on Network and Telecommunicationsstandards and best practices.

Experience in network engineering to include analysis ofnetwork requirements performance for a largescale network. Experience in dataand telecommunications to include installing testing and inspecting deployed datacommunications systems. Experience installing migrating and supportingcritical multisite networks a plus.

The selected candidate will coordinate and interact withmultiple vendors for problem resolution and diagnosing networking issues.Knowledge of wireline and wireless communications technologies and standardsincluding fiber optics T1 DS3 MPLS cellular / 5G CDMA TDMA VoIPTCP/IP UDP ICMP IP networking concepts (subnetting routing).

The selected candidate will manage all phases of networkinstallation and administration; to research and document communicationstechnologies topologies and trends. The selected candidate should be able tocommunicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and externalcustomers. Proficiency using MS Teams Word Excel and PowerPoint. With anexcellent working knowledge of LAN WAN WAP Cradle Point / NetCloud andcabling standards.
