Sr Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions including financial reporting general ledger reconciliation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports
• Manage general ledger activities including account reconciliations and journal entries
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Lead monthend and yearend closing processes
• Prepare and file tax returns ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Conduct regular audits and ensure internal controls are effective
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Proven 24 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role
• Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
• Previous experience in the Agriculture industry.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• High level of integrity and professionalism
