Job Description

This is a remote position.

Document Preparation and Management:
  • Opening new files and filing various correspondence/documents
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents including client agreements correspondence and various commercial/property/wills & estates documents
  • Organise and maintain electronic filing systems for efficient document retrieval
  • Assist with legal research to support lawyers in case preparation
  • Assist in the preparation of legal briefs and research materials
  • Efficiently use precedents in working on the above
Client files:
  • Assist lawyers in managing and organising client files
  • Maintain and update matter tasks calendars deadlines and schedules
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients and external parties regarding matters as directed by solicitor members of team
Client Interaction:
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information
  • Provide updates to clients on their matter
  • Assist with New Client Enquiries as required
Administrative Support:
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for the Commercial/Property/Wills & Estates team
  • Handle incoming calls emails and correspondence and ensure timely responses
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying scanning and filing

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant in the Commercial/Property area with an Australian law firm preferred
  • Previous work with PEXA (online conveyancing platform) would be advantageous
  • Experience in Conveyancing would be wellregarded
  • Study towards a paralegal qualification highly regarded
  • Experience in Practice Evolve would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
