Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accounting Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department including financial reporting compliance and strategic financial planning. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies procedures and internal controls to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process working closely with external auditors and providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic financial plans and initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Oversee the management of general ledger functions accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a highperforming team.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
  • Experience in Agriculture/Manufacture industry is a plus.
