Estimator

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Estimator to support our sales and quotation team. This vital role involves managing and responding to request for quote (RFQ) enquiries and playing a key role in the strategic preparation of bids and quotations. As an Estimator you will analyse project specifications and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates that align with our companys goals and client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background excellent numerical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both team members and clients.

Responsibilities

• Quote Management
  

• Respond to RFQ enquiries promptly gathering all necessary information and documentation to prepare accurate quotes.
  

• Work closely with the sales and quotation team to understand client needs and expectations ensuring all quotes are tailored to meet specific client requirements.
  

• Cost Estimation
  

• Analyse project documents and specifications to estimate costs associated with materials labor and other resources.
  

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates that factor in potential variables and risks ensuring competitive and profitable pricing.
  

• Tender Document Preparation
  

• Prepare comprehensive tender documents that accurately convey the scope cost and timelines of the project to potential clients.
  

• Ensure that all tender documentation is clear professional and aligned with both client requirements and company standards.
  

• Collaboration and Coordination
  

• Collaborate with project managers engineers and other stakeholders to gather cost information and pricing strategies.
  

• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and negotiate pricing information used in bid preparation.
  

• Reporting and Analysis
  

• Prepare detailed reports and analysis of estimated versus actual costs providing insights and recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  

• Maintain uptodate knowledge of industry trends pricing and regulatory changes that could impact cost estimates.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator with a strong focus on sales support and quotation management.
  

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex documents and financial data.
  

Desirable

• Experience in the specific industry related to the company s projects enhancing understanding of technical requirements and cost factors.
  

• Strong negotiation skills with experience dealing with suppliers and subcontractors.
  

• Experience and understanding of engineering drawings
  

• Experience and understanding of Australian regulations and laws (engineering documents required council approvals permits traffic management etc.)
  

Software

• Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
  

• Corel Draw experience is preferred
