This is a remote position.
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for various projects ensuring all factors are considered.
- Analyse project specifications blueprints and other documents to prepare thorough cost summaries.
- Update and maintain cost databases and other reference materials.
- Perform precise quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Identify and quantify all necessary materials labor and equipment needed for project completion.
- Utilise specialised software to enhance accuracy and efficiency in takeoff processes.
- Producing Bills of Quantities (BoQs):
- Compile detailed BoQs that clearly outline all project requirements.
- Ensure BoQs are comprehensive and align with project specifications and drawings.
- Regularly update BoQs to reflect any changes or adjustments in project scope.
- Reviewing Subcontractor Quotes:
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors ensuring they are competitive and align with project requirements.
- Conduct thorough reviews of subcontractor bids for accuracy completeness and compliance with project specifications.
- Negotiate with subcontractors to achieve the best value and quality for the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and tools (e.g. Bluebeam PlanSwift etc.).
- Strong understanding of construction processes materials and costs.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
- Strong English Language Skills written & verbal
- Strong Writing Skills conversational English
