Position Summary
Oversees all operational functions including procurement logistics engineering production service warehousing and distribution for offices and branches in Malaysia. Works closely with Sales Finance and Administration to ensure company financial targets and goals are met by producing goods and services that exceed benchmarks for quality assurance standards are on budget and delivered within required timeframes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Resource and manage operational functions to facilitate the production of goods and services that meet company expectations for cost quality and delivery on time
- Manage and mentor the operations and engineering team and develop skill levels across all aspects of the team
- Manage the establishment and control of all documentation for the operations functions of the business including creation and maintenance of databases and system controls
- Develop and manage the implementation of inspection and testing documentation and procedures and the control of inspection and test status of products
- Resource and manage quality control systems including sales service and warranty procedures conducting quality audits identification and disposal of nonconfirming products and use of corrective actions where deficiencies are found
- Ensures Engineering solutions provide functionality and usability while delivering production proficiency efficient deployment of resources and quality assurance requirements
- Instigate cost saving methods and programs including tenders negotiations and price reviews for new and existing suppliers of goods and services both domestically and internationally
- Manage suppliers to ensure the goods and services provided meet standards for quality efficiency and cost while maintaining approved supplier listings and supplier performance records
- Control over freight movements comprising of receipt handling storage and delivery of all incoming and outgoing freight movements including forecasting demand and procurement of materials
- Development and implementation of quality and environmental systems that meet requirements for ISO9001
Additional Duties
- Lead various projects or initiatives as assigned by general manager including continuous improvement and cost saving programs
- Establish and implement training programs for operations and service staff including OHS committee and fire safety
- Instigate cycle counting and stocktake procedures to validate inventory records
- Ensure the internal and external areas of the building including office warehouse and common spaces are kept clean and free from clutter for overall presentation of the building and as preventative OHS
- Maintain responsibility for warehouse security
Requirements
Education and Skill Requirements Essential
- Bachelor Degree in either Engineering (Industrial Mechanical or Electrical) Business Management or Supply / Value Chain
- Quality Auditor training and quality management experience
- Previous staff management experience
Education and Skill Requirements Preferred
- Demonstrated analytical organizational and problemsolving skills
- A working knowledge of ERP/MRP enterprise software packages like Oracle SAP or JD Edwards
- Advance software skills in Word Excel and PowerPoint
Experience Required
- Three (3) to five (5) years industry experience in a supervisory role
