Purpose of the role:
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for crafting exquisite desserts that complement the overall dining experience in all our restaurants maintaining the highest standards of quality and contributing to the restaurants reputation for culinary excellence.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Creating and developing innovative and visually stunning dessert menus in line with the restaurants culinary philosophy and standards.
- Collaborating with the executive chef and culinary team to ensure a cohesive and harmonious dining experience.
- Leading and inspiring a team of pastry chefs and kitchen employees to achieve excellence in both creativity and execution.
- Providing guidance mentorship and training to the pastry team fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Ensuring the consistency and high quality of all pastry offerings through rigorous testing tasting and refinement.
- Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in the pastry kitchen.
- Sourcing and selecting premiumquality ingredients while maintaining strong relationships with reputable suppliers.
- Managing inventory effectively to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
- Staying abreast of industry trends emerging techniques and new ingredients to continually elevate the pastry program.
- Introducing new and unique dessert concepts that captivate and delight diners.
- Overseeing the plating and presentation of desserts to ensure they meet the highest aesthetic standards.
- Collaborating with the frontofhouse team to coordinate the timing of dessert service.
- Developing and managing the pastry department budget ensuring costeffective practices without compromising on quality.
- Monitoring portion control and waste to maximize profitability.
- Working closely with the executive chef sous chefs and other department heads to maintain a seamless and coordinated kitchen operation.
- Participating in menu tastings meetings and events as required.
What we expect from you
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef with a track record of success in highend or Michelinstarred establishments.
- Culinary degree or relevant formal education.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Creativity and a passion for pushing the boundaries of pastry arts.
- Indepth knowledge of pastry techniques flavor combinations and dessert trends.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced highpressure kitchen environment.
