Job Description

Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer

Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to lead cuttingedge projects in HVAC and Plumbing design Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for designing mechanical HVAC and Plumbing systems for diverse new and renovation projects. Coordinate resources and ensure the successful completion of project design work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead detailed design for projects of various sizes assigning tasks to team members.
  • Supervise and mentor mechanical designers and engineers ensuring highquality work.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and project subconsultants.
  • Attend design and coordination meetings; perform construction site reviews when required.
  • Analyze client proposals select mechanical equipment and prepare schematic design reports.
  • Review and provide feedback on colleagues' drawings and designs.
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines and determine project design hours.
  • Identify the need for additional services and communicate effectively with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets tracking work progress and resource utilization.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 510 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.).
  • Detailed understanding of building systems and their impact on mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of current codes and standards including plumbing and building codes.
  • Excellent written communication skills and proficiency in software (Microsoft Word Bluebeam AutoCAD REVIT etc.).
  • Financial acumen related to projects including work backlog work in progress and project costs vs budgets.
  • Ability to schedule mentor and manage project teams on multiple concurrent projects.
