Job Description

My client is a wellestablished bank founded in the early 1970s in the Cayman Islands offering a comprehensive suite of banking services supported by cuttingedge technology for the alternative asset management ecosystem. Their vision is to be at the forefront of the alternative funds industry providing integrated solutions and technologydriven capabilities on a global scale.

After having expanded in the US they are now looking to do the same in Europe where Luxembourg has been recognized as the premier location for the headquarter of the European credit institution. After thorough analysis and discussions they are in the process of regulatory approval for obtaining a credit institution license under the Luxembourg Law of April 1993. The entity is aiming to commence operations in early 2025.

The Luxembourg credit institution will mirror their successful business model of the Cayman bank which will be adapted to meet EU and Luxembourgspecific regulations.

We are seeking a Head of Transaction Services for the Transaction Services department.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of Transaction Services will lead the business unit Transaction Services of the Bank which includes custody payments reconciliation network management and regulatory tax reporting. The main tasks and responsibilities are to ensure operational stability in our daytoday business and deliver a highquality service to our clients. In addition managing the team establishing efficient processes and working together with the management team on strategic goals to ensure a consistent growth of our business are the key elements for this role. The department head will directly report to the Chief Operating Officer.


RESPONSIBILITIES TASKS AND PERFORMANCE

  • Lead and manage the daytoday operations of the teams together with the team heads ensuring efficiency high standard of quality in the deliveries compliance and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Managing of three team heads as direct reports
  • Establish robust and efficient processes and implement measures to reduce risk and drive cost effectiveness within the department and in cooperations with other departments
  • Preparing presentations and present the department in external client / service provider meetings
  • Main contact person for the product and close collaboration with other teams to ensure highquality service delivery to our clients
  • Main contact for our thirdparty network e.g. custodians and cash correspondents
  • Responsible for budget planning and timely fee collection


EXPERIENCE SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent analytical and decisionmaking skills and structured way of working
  • Leadership to motivate and empower others
  • Client focused to resolve issues efficiently
  • Effective communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills knowledge of Temenos would be an advantage
  • Profound knowledge of operational processes in the fields of custody and payments including latest regulations
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in similar environment


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in economics business administration finance or similar
  • Fluent in English is mandatory and additional languages of French and / or German are an asset
