Overview

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive counseling to clients regarding overseas study work or immigration opportunities
• Assist clients in selecting suitable academic or professional programs abroad
• Coordinate visa application processes and provide guidance on legal requirements
• Offer support in cultural adaptation and integration into foreign communities
• Address client concerns and issues related to living and studying abroad
• Organize and conduct informational seminars and workshops on international travel and living abroad
• Collaborate with educational institutions and immigration authorities to stay updated on relevant policies and procedures
• Assess client eligibility for various overseas programs and opportunities
• Monitor and address clients emotional psychological and social wellbeing while abroad
• Develop customized plans to meet individual client needs and goals
• Manage crises and emergencies faced by clients during their time abroad
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation
• Provide guidance on international job search strategies and employment prospects
• Stay informed about global political social and economic developments that may impact overseas travel
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments managing paperwork and processing applications

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in International Relations Counseling Education or related field
• Proven experience in counseling advising or guiding individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Strong understanding of visa regulations immigration laws and international education systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency in at least one foreign language relevant to popular overseas destinations
• Good understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues faced by individuals in foreign environments
• Ability to manage highstress situations and provide effective crisis intervention
• Interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with clients from various backgrounds
• Knowledge of foreign exchange programs study abroad opportunities and work permit regulations
• Detailoriented with strong organizational and administrative abilities
• Proficiency in using relevant counseling and educational software
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to accommodate client needs
• Certification in counseling or relevant professional development courses is a plus
• Experience studying working or living abroad is desirable
• Understanding of international travel insurance and healthcare provisions is beneficial
