Job Description

Reports to: Compliance Manager

Location: Flexible remote working with regular site visits across UK

Contract: Fulltime permanent

Salary: 40000 to 50000 per annum car allowance benefits

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a SHEQ Advisor to join our growing team. Reporting to the Compliance Manager you will support the business and the SHEQ Manager in delivering projects safely without any illhealth risk to personnel whilst protecting the environment and ensuring the quality of the services that we deliver.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Provide support to the SHEQ Manager and Directors in promoting a positive culture and continual improvement.
  • Devise and implement initiatives to improve SHEQ performance.
  • Ensure business compliance with ISO standards and internal processes.
  • Maintain supplier and subcontractor approval lists and accreditations.
  • Assist in developing SHEQ software for better compliance and user experience.
  • Conduct internal audits according to ISOand 45001 standards.
  • Support project teams in delivering projects by understanding key legislation notably CDM Regulations.
  • Act as Principal Designer or manage the process when appropriate.
  • Write construction phase and environmental management plans.
  • Complete risk assessments and method statements.
  • Investigate incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Conduct site audits raise actions and track evidence of closeout.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are inspected and calibrated per regulatory requirements.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in a similar role within the construction industry preferably in the utilities sector. You will have a full knowledge of legislative requirements and best practices specifically CDM regulations working at height and electricity at work.

The successful candidate will have a NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent and TechIOSH. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively problemsolve and think outside the box. Youll be highly organised with an ability to prioritise and a professional demeanour and presentation.

We require an individual who is selfmotivated driven and goaloriented with a proactive approach to work tasks and a willingness to learn new skills. You will need to be proficient in MS Office (Word Excel) and have an eye for accuracy.

The Rewards:
