Job Description: Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a bubbly and positive Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in London. As a Teaching Assistant you will be working with SEND children and helping them to achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a primary school environment during the spring and summer months where you will have the chance to work outdoors and enjoy the sunshine.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in childcaring roles and possess patience and empathy. You should also have the ability to work with children with special educational needs. As a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons providing onetoone support to children who need it and helping to create a safe and nurturing learning environment.

Slingshot Education are looking to appoint enthusiastic Early Years and KS1&2 Teaching Assistants to support students across the curriculum and across schools in London. If you have child- based work experience and you are passionate about education and inclusion, this could be your next role! Job type: Full- time (Mon-Fri, 8.30 -15.30). Rate: 90- 100/day. Start Date: Immediately. Applications are now open. As a Teaching Assistant: You will be collaboratively working with the teaching staff and ensuring academic and personal development for all students while adhering and ensuring provision and safeguarding for all. Previous experience of working with young people in any capacity (TA, LSA, nanny, babysitter, sports coach, customer service etc) is desirable but not required. An interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is also an advantage. All staff are expected to do everything they can to protect the children and young people from harm and to make the learning environment safe. Other responsibilities will include: Support the main class teacher in the delivery of the lessons. Differentiate instruction to make curriculum accessible to all students (including those with SEND). Monitor and record pupils progress and provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers and parents when required. Provide support as required, such as helping during exams, or going on school trips and participating in sports day. Help with extra-curricular activity such as breakfast and after-school clubs, homework club, revision sessions or playtime and lunchtime duties.
