Business Analyst

Responsibilities and Work Outputs:

• Identify investigate and analyze business problems; propose documented solutions that fully address business requirements to optimize operations.
  
• Stay informed of market changes and internal system developments ensuring that new processes align with best practices.
  
• Elicit requirements and design solutions by conducting requirement sessions (JAD) interviews and reviewing existing documentation.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to document business process maps business requirement definitions and business requirements specifications.
  
• Develop and document detailed functional and nonfunctional requirements specifications in accordance with standards.
  
• Critically evaluate business processes to establish time and cost parameters and make innovative recommendations to impact the business positively.
  
• Investigate and analyze alternative solutions proposing the best approach to meet business needs.
  
• Develop solutions that encompass the entire system including people processes and technology.
  
• Assist in identifying risks and issues related to the implementation of solution requirements.
  
• Document the impact and interactions of business processes and requirements to support system design and development.
  
• Contribute to the successful implementation of projects to achieve business outcomes.
  
• Define success criteria using scenario testing and test cases to ensure testing covers all aspects of the business specification. Participate in user acceptance testing and guide users to ensure the designed solution meets business requirements.
  
• Identify and analyze deficiencies and loopholes in operational processes proposing effective solutions.
  
• Investigate and propose process optimization opportunities in the context of best practices and improved operational efficiency.
  
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers and organizational role players to achieve optimal crossprocess integration.
  

Requirements

Additional Experience that Would Be an Advantage:

• Prior experience with Life Insurance systems
  
• Work experience with a policy administration system preferably one offered by a ZA vendor
  
• Ability to extract and work with policy administration data
