Job Description

Overview
The Accounting Specialist Distribution Operations primary focus will be on managing various aspects of financial accounting within the distribution environment. The successful candidate will work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner while also providing insights and analysis to support decisionmaking processes. This person will help examine evaluate and prioritize the opportunities and challenges in fulfillment and distribution operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately record and categorize expenses related to distribution operations.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and ensure that inventory levels are accurate to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Support monthend close activities such as preparing monthly financial reports including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Provide management with timely information and responses to inquiries.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Identify and investigate unresolved variances or system issues affecting invoice amounts balances and activity.
  • Update balance sheet accounts regularly.
  • Monitor and prepare cash fl ow forecasts.
  • Perform vendor fi le maintenance updates as needed. Provide timely feedback on discrepancies.
  • Prepare analysis and examine past due balances/credits on vendor statements using financial reporting tools.
  • Participate in discussions with internal team and vendors to communicate pricing or other product or process issues.
  • Participate in regular meetings provide status updates on current projects and exchange ideas with team members on best practices.
  • Assist with other adhoc projects implementations and initiatives as requested by management.


Requirements

Required technical skills and other key qualifications:

  • Strong analytical curiosity and quantitative skills
  • Preferably with experience using different Zoho Suite and Applications
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
  • Proactive mindset and ability to solve problems within the scope of the position.
  • Proven experience as a strong team player.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Exhibits a sense of
  • urgency understanding the importance of system and monthend close deadlines.
  • Ability to interact professionally with peers/departments all levels of management and thirdparty partners.
  • Selfstarter with strong organizational skills and excellent follow through.
  • Proven experience with analyzing prioritizing and solving problems effectively.

Education and work history:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting Business or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in distribution environment.
  • A combination of education training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • Exposure and knowledge of all facets of Supply Chain and distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations is a plus.
