Key Responsibilities
Procurement Managers are responsible for identifying potential suppliers conducting due diligence and selecting those that can provide the required materials or components.
Involves in creating and implementing strategies to obtain materials and components at the best possible cost without sacrificing quality. It may include negotiating bulk discounts exploring alternate sourcing options or leveraging longterm contracts.
Quality Assurance and Supplier Compliance: Ensuring that suppliers meet quality standards and regulatory requirements is crucial.
Lead Time Management and OnTime Deliveries: Procurement Managers collaborate with suppliers to minimize lead times ensuring that materials and components arrive on time to meet production schedules.
Procurement Managers assess these risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate their impact on production.
To prepare and manage the procurement budget ensuring that expenses align with the financial plan.
Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers is a core responsibility.
Regularly assessing supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality metrics delivery punctuality and costeffectiveness. This evaluation helps in maintaining high supplier standards.
Effective communication and collaboration with other departments such as production engineering and finance are crucial.
Must Have Skills
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management business administration or a related field.
5 years of relevant experience in procurement with a track record of increasing responsibility.
Familiarity with the EMS industry and electronic component sourcing.
Expertise in cost analysis and costeffective procurement strategies.
Proven ability to establish and manage strong relationships with suppliers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Strong negotiation skills for securing favorable terms with suppliers.
Proficiency in data analysis tools for informed decisionmaking.
Knowledge of supply chain processes including inventory management and logistics.
Experience in identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
