About the Role:
The Assistant Bookkeeper will assist the Bookkeeper with daily banking reconciliations fortnightly payroll management and various administrative duties for all entities of the client.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Effectiveness:
- Demonstrates the technical skills necessary for completing assigned responsibilities particularly with Excel and Xero.
Practice Management:
- Reliable in following through on responsibilities.
- Takes ownership of tasks dedicating the necessary time to complete them.
- Completes required tasks on time.
- Communicates with management promptly and effectively.
Accounts Responsibilities:
- Enter SNAP and SRSS banking transactions daily.
- Process SNAP and SRSS invoices as requested.
- Check and record Personal Trainer rent payments weekly.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Enter all new employees into the system weekly.
- Process wages salaries leave applications commencements terminations salary increments superannuation and any payroll variations for SNAP staff fortnightly.
- Complete termination entries in Xero and Excel fortnightly.
- Ensure compliance with taxation and superannuation changes related to payroll.
- Ensure payroll processing complies with legal ethical and professional standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and relevant legislation is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new tasks as required.
