Job Description

Job Title:

  • Technical Coordinator Experiential Marketing

Work Location:

  • 70% Onsite 365 East Grand Avenue South San Francisco CA 94080

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time MondayFriday Dolby 9/80 schedule
  • Overtime is not expected but could be possible based upon business needs and will occur only when requested and approved by manager
  • As this is an Events role the candidate should also understand that schedule will need to be flexible depending on the event itself.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel often
  • Potential international travel but no specifics since plans are fluid and not yet finalized less percentage than domestic travel during assignment

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Technical Coordinator to join our Event Experiences team. Primary responsibilities will include support for Dolby Experiential activations Tradeshows and Virtual Events.

The ideal candidate should be professional dependable and have a great attitude. This role requires someone who is selfreliant detailed extremely organized and can manage multiple projects at once. The candidate should also be extremely comfortable with seeking resources to adapt environments to ever changing technology and specifications and be able to fluidly adapt to rapidly changing infrastructure needs.

This role will be based in San Francisco CA and will report to the Lead Technical Manager Experiential Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Event and technical design planning with key business group and product stakeholders to determine environmental technical requirements.
  • Support event systems including audio/video lighting HVAC network/internet live sound reinforcement and power to support customer experiences and business group equipment.
  • Support technical direction on configuration and wiring and identify and advise on system abilities/limitations when implemented in various event environments.
  • Assist with managing and maintaining technical infrastructure and inhouse inventory of all event A/V equipment including frequent testing updating and general daytoday upkeep of all A/V equipment and systems infrastructure.
  • Support the creation integration and implementation of innovative technical event delivery solutions that aid in more agile and flexible team responses to ever more rapidly changing event needs and demands.
  • Assist with improving and streamlining equipment inventory and tracking systems.
  • Create and manage wiring and install diagrams for equipment power audio video networking and all other cabling needs for event systems builds.
  • Support preshow content testing and setup for demo testing and troubleshooting.
  • Support technical and systems construction loadin setup testing run of show troubleshooting teardown pack and loadout.
  • Support onsite activities during show and assist events team wherever needed.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues during events by leveraging strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Support equipment logistics around preparing packing shipping and tracking inventory for Tier 1 and Tier 2 events and various business group requests.
  • Create and manage devices and device accounts for events. Track document and update all related information and ensure devices are properly configured tested and have the applications content and accounts needed for each demo.
  • Create and manage network infrastructure for events and demonstrate the ability to quickly change network configurations onsite as needs change.
  • Assist in building Dolby Atmos mixing racks for systems integrations when needed.
  • Continuously educate and train on current and new company and industry technologies and best practices.
  • Research and identify potential new equipment and technologies that can integrate with current A/V systems and stay up to date with current industry standards and certifications.
  • Conduct QC testing of digital applications on various Apple Android and Windows ecosystems and and endpoints.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in related field

Experience:

This is a handson position requiring both sophisticated technical knowledge and rollupyour sleeves capabilities working on a variety of internal and external customer experiences and events. The successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent cross functional/cross organization program and team management
  • An ability to lead and influence without direct management/reporting line responsibility
  • Indepth technical knowledge of Dolby products and solutions
  • Deep experience with professional and consumer A/V systems and interconnectivity including hardware cables and connectors signal conversion HVAC networking and audio/video signal types and distribution.
  • Technical familiarity with all relevant product categories and devices including smartphones tablets laptops computers home theatre TVS etc.
  • Familiar with Mac OS and Windows and relevant audio and video file types
  • 5 years experience in related systems integration and events
  • Team player who possesses strong interpersonal skills outstanding communication organizational and leadership skills
  • Creative problemsolver with ability to multitask manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • A proactive approach to handling challenges that might arise and ability to quickly troubleshoot problems. Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to be versatile and flexible in a rapidly changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency meeting deadlines and benchmarks
  • Selfstarter with sense of humor and positive professional demeanor requiring little hand holding.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems effectively using all resources to find solutions including improvisational workarounds.
  • Customerservice oriented
  • Possesses a handson approach to tasks and exhibits a desire to learn and grow in the field

* Local Candidates only who are available to commute to the below locations:

  • 365 East Grand Avenue South San Francisco CA 94080 (more frequent location)
  • 1275 Market St San Francisco CA (infrequent)

* Length of Assignment: One year with possibility of extension depending on performance and team fit

* Travel:

  • 20% domestic travel
  • Potential international travel but no specifics since plans are fluid and not yet finalized less percentage than domestic travel during assignment

* Max bill rate is the same as the target bill rate.

* NOTES:

  • Part of the Experiential Marketing Group
  • Supports builds planning and implementation of event setup
  • Not an entry level position
  • Best fit are candidates who have event production experience and a broad technical knowledge and aptitude as it pertains to event set ups; touring/rock & roll experience would also fit
  • Very very attentive to detail knows how to follow directions
  • Knowledge of basic computer networking setup skills a plus
  • Should be comfortable with physical work get hands dirty as is the nature of the role
  • The candidate should understand that the events drive the schedule so the potential for work during the weekend and evenings are possible
