Job Description
- Primary purpose of the role Lead the development and provision of business functions to support the delivery and oversight of Water Infrastructure NSW’s programs and projects, including reporting, project reviews, project management services, and information management systems.
- Key accountabilities
- • Lead a diverse team that supports effective, consistent, and efficient delivery and oversight of Water Infrastructure’s portfolio of infrastructure projects.
- • Ensure that project support services, guidance, and systems are designed and continue to meet business needs by proactively partnering with the project delivery teams and other functional areas
- . • Support governance, decision making and planning activities within WINSW and across government by delivering high quality performance reports and business intelligence. Role Description Director Portfolio Delivery Service
- Establish and evolve Water Infrastructure NSW’s portfolio and project management frameworks to enable best practice in portfolio oversight and project delivery
- . • Oversee development, adoption, support and continuous improvement of efficient portfolio and project management tools and systems that minimise administrative overheads for project teams and meet the needs of central business functions
- . • Foster and engage with portfolio and project management communities of practice by building connections across Water Infrastructure NSW, the Department, other government agencies and industry partners, to inform working practices within Water Infrastructure NSW.
- • Lead, mentor, inspire, coach, and develop a high performing team, and build their capability to meet future organisational needs and their own professional development goals. Key challenges
- • Developing and facilitating effective working relationships across the Department to ensure consistent and integrated portfolio management and programming outcomes are achieved
- . • Adapting tools, systems and processes to support project delivery and portfolio management as WINSW matures and working practices and business needs evolve over time
- . • Anticipating and responding to unplanned changes in Government priorities or funding appropriations which are likely to impede effective delivery and identifying mechanisms which mitigate these risks.
