Job Description

Senior Manager IP Development

Central IP group is responsible for the research design development verification integration validation & qualification of Semiconductor Intellectual Property (IP) required for the manufacturing of integrated silicon devices.

This is an excellent time to join our team as the selected individual will be responsible for oversight development & growth of the Central IP groups Soft IP COE (Center of Excellence) in support of the mission enablement of Soft IP reuse across the company.

Soft (i.e. RTL based) IP covers a wide range of foundation IP building blocks common in the industry today such as: Memory Controllers Bus Peripherals (e.g. I2C SPI UART ) Analog Frontend Logic DFT Controllers FIFOs etc.

What you will do in this role

  • Ownership of the Soft IP COE IP roadmap including:
    • Proactive stakeholder engagement for IPs in plan as well as 3to5year outlook
    • Business case justification & closure of all roadmap additions or removals
  • Execution ownership of the Soft IP COE IP programs as defined per roadmap from definition through final release including:
    • Requirements management
    • Architecture definition and planning
    • Design and Verification execution
    • Product integration support
    • Validation plan and execution
    • Design Release management closure and signoff(s)
  • Train / mentor /guide junior team members
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently to the team upper management and stakeholders
  • Be responsible for each IP programs schedule scope cost and success
  • Leading and inspiring crossfunctional and virtual teams to achieve the COEs mission
  • Drive solutions to problems encountered minimizing impact to both cost and schedule

About you

Proficiencies

  • Expert knowledge of Soft (RTL) IP development processes tools and flows
  • Excellent leadership skills to guide performance of team members
  • Data gathering and analysis to understand gaps and champion improvements
  • Highly proficient with EDA ASIC/FPGA design tools (i.e. Design compilers Simulators Timing Closure etc.))
  • Experience with requirements management and issues tracking tools (e.g. JAMA JIRA) a plus
  • Working proficiency in MS Project Excel PowerPoint OneNote Linux environment scripting languages (e.g. Python TCL Perl) and data management version control systems a plus
  • Automating processes and structures to reduce repetitive tasks

Qualifications

  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelors degree in an Electrical Engineering or related field
  • At least 15 years of industry experience primary emphasis on Soft IP development
