Our client is a fast growing venturebacked MIT spinoff firm dedicated to developing the next generation of additive manufacturing technologies. Working at the crossroads of automated engineering computational design and polymer science we create and commercialize highly configurable materials and products ranging from medical equipment to luxury apparel.
Join our dynamic Platform Engineering Team to help advance the automation and reliability of our additive manufacturing process. As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for measurement instrumentation sensors and controls using systems design thinking and engineering principles. The major purpose is to guarantee that the production process is stable and dependable contributing to the overall success of our inhouse built manufacturing platform.

The location for this position is Medford MA USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Take control of module test benches for process monitoring and development.
  • Create develop and improve control systems for our additive manufacturing machines.
  • Use sensors and feedback systems to improve control and automation tactics.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement process improvement projects.
  • Troubleshoot and fix difficulties with control systems instrumentation and automation.
  • Collaborate and contribute to firmware electrical and mechanical engineering design development activities to improve overall system functioning.
  • Develop and integrate measuring and instrumentation systems to provide accurate process monitoring.
Skills Required:
  • Experience using process test benches for monitoring and development.
  • A bachelors degree in engineering ideally in control automation robotics or a similar discipline.
  • Proficiency in automation programming (e.g. Microcontrollers PLCs C Ladder Logic Python MATLAB).
  • A thorough grasp of measuring systems instruments sensors and control methodologies.
  • Outstanding problemsolving abilities and system engineering ideas.
  • Effective teamwork in a sprintbased fastpaced and agile team setting.
  • 5 years of handson experience in controls automation or process engineering.
Optional Skills:
  • Experience with ROS Linux Docker GraphQL AWS React and Notion.
  • A masters or doctoral degree in controls automation robotics or a similar subject.
  • Experience in additive manufacturing and 3D printing technology.
  • Experience in machine learning applications in process optimization.
  • Overseeing process development projects requires project management abilities.
