Overview:
The Melting Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the melting and casting processes within the organizations manufacturing operations. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the melting department while maintaining highquality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate melting operations to achieve production targets
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during melting processes
- Monitor and maintain furnace operations and temperature control
- Coordinate with maintenance team for equipment repairs and maintenance
- Implement and enforce quality control measures for molten metal
- Train mentor and manage melting department personnel
- Optimize melting processes for efficiency and costeffectiveness
- Keep inventory of raw materials and ensure their availability
- Collaborate with other departments to support production schedules
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to operational standards
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of new melting department staff
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for melting processes
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering Materials Science or related field
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a melting or casting environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of melting and casting processes and equipment
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with crossfunctional teams
- Proven leadership abilities and personnel management skills
- Qualityfocused with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and demanding manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Certification in industrial safety and health practices is a plus
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Proficiency in using melting and castingrelated software and systems
- Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to operational needs
- Physical ability to stand lift and move heavy materials as required
