Job Description:
As a Geotechnical Driller you will play a critical role in executing drilling operations for geotechnical investigations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and safety of borehole drilling activities in compliance with the project specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with the site supervisor and geotechnical engineer to ensure the smooth of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drilling machines efficiently and safely according to project specifications and relevant standards.
- Monitor drilling conditions by checking gauges and equipment making necessary adjustments during the drilling process to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Bore or drill holes in rock for routing anchoring blasting or building foundations ensuring precision in all operations.
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of rigs and related accessories including performing regular checks and intermediate maintenance.
- Record and update project information on the daily drillers log sheet.
- Properly label and store samples for transfer to the laboratory and hand them over to the geotechnical engineer.
- Ensure the implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) practices in the workplace.
- Verify and maintain the identification of machines and accessories ensuring they are properly labeled and doented.
- Follow the instructions of the Head of Section or Quality urance Officer (Q.A.O.) reporting all workrelated matters to the site supervisor or geotechnical engineer.
- Ensure the safety and accuracy of all drilling activities and maintain a safe working environment for the crew.
Essential Qualifications and Ss:
- Experience: 2 years of experience in geotechnical drilling or a related field including familiarity with drilling machinery techniques and safety standards.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of drilling procedures equipment maintenance and borehole techniques.
- Safety Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of QMS/EMS/HSE protocols and the ability to implement these in the field.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor drilling conditions and make adjustments to ensure safety and accuracy in drilling operations.
- Communication Ss: Good communication with the crew site supervisor and geotechnical engineer for smooth of work.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of operating heavy machinery and working in a construction or industrial environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with rig and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments including working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Certification in relevant health and safety standards is preferred.
