Sr Architectural Technologist -

Position Overview


We are looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to support a young and growing office that is backed by a reputable engineering consultancy. The winning candidate will have the opportunity for rapid career growth and potential ownership opportunities while working in an agile and exciting environment free of bureaucracy and office politics at an employee owned organization.

This role will offer experience on a wide variety of projects including: Multifamily Residential Highrise and ICI.


As a pivotal member of the design team the Senior Architectural Technologist under the guidance of the Lead Architect provides technical leadership in managing assignments developing technical documentation and producing drawings using advanced industry software like Revit.

This role is crucial in transforming architects' and engineers' concepts into feasible structures through diligent research of building codes assessment of materials cost estimation and project management ensuring the integrity of construction by meticulous monitoring and inspection.


Must Haves:

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology
• 6 years of related experience
• Field experience supervising projects through construction
• Experience with wood steel and concrete structural detailing
• Experience using AutoCAD Revit SketchUp and Adobe
• Experience communicating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with BIM and collaborating with subtrades

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of technical documents and drawings
• Translate design ideas into practical executable plans
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
• Prepare detailed design specifications for various projects
• Collaborate with engineers designers and project managers to ensure detail accuracy
• Conduct technical reviews and edit drawings in coordination with engineers
• Advise and support the Lead Architect and Senior Management on daily project activities
• Develop architectural proposals with both computeraided and traditional design methods
• Manage project schedules and budgets in line with codes and ordinances
• Draft technical drawings and sketches from schematics and markups
• Prepare contracts bidding documents and handle permit applications
• Oversee and update project drawing packages and logs
• Conduct site visits and field reviews to monitor progress
• Coordinate with contractors suppliers and authorities as necessary
• Mentor and supervise junior staff ensuring knowledge transfer and quality standards.
