Mechanical Engineer 3

Location: Troy MI (Hybrid)

Duration: Full time

(Hybrid) Part time Hybrid /Working from the office more often at least 3 or more days in the office for collaboration.

Shift: 7am3:30pm ET

Summary:

The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design functionality and maintenance of mechanical products equipment systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research design develop manufacture and test tools engines machines and other mechanical devices.
• Research and analyze customer design proposals specifications manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
• Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools equipment or software.

Skills:

• Creativity verbal and written communication skills analytical and problem solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Ability to make sketches engineering drawings and common computations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawing schematics and computergenerated reports.
• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in engineering required.
• 57 years experience required.

Positions Contributions to Work Group:

• Support mechanical and electrical design engineers with mechanical modeling design and analysis relative to battery. Component modeling and design may include castings fabrications stampings extrusions and injection moldings.

Technical Skills (Required)

• Highly proficient with CAD modeling Lightweight analysis (Creo simulate FloEFD etc.) Ability to detail prints.

(Desired)

• Highly proficient with Creo modeling Previous design experience related to battery systems Previous design experience with offroad equipment.

Soft Skills (Required)

• Ability to translate verbal and/or written design ideas into fully detailed concepts ready for quoting / production on an agile timeline. Ability to creatively solve problems with minimal direction from work director
