How you can contribute to gridX:

We are an ambitious team and scaling fast as an organization and also our platform. This means that you can take on a lot of responsibility right from the start. It also means that there are many interesting challenges you can specialize in. Some of the exciting topics we are working on include:

• Distributed IoT Platform: We build and operate a distributed robust and modern IoT platform.
• Highly Available cloudyconnected IoT Devices: We have transferred our knowledge and experiences from cloudnative computing to IoT devices. We develop and manufacture an edge device for controlling decentralized energy systems our gridBox. We operate our gridBoxes in the field and manage them centrally. To enable this we have developed our own operating system called gridOS for the gridBox.
• DataCentric Applications: Each gridBox produces data around the clock which is stored analyzed and visualized for our customers. We aim to deliver the best possible result to our customers by providing them insights and visualizations about their energy consumption and production.

Your tasks in detail:

• Show the world how to switch to a renewable and decentralized energy system by developing products that our customers love to use
• You support streamaligned teams in implementing new features in the energy management industry
• You collaborate with the backend team to ensure the sustainable scaling of the overall system. This includes the optimization of the existing code expanded use of asynchronous and reactive communication patterns refactoring and rearchitecting as well as other small individually scalable services

This is how you and your application stand out

• You have experience with web technologies (HTTP APIs gRPC) and with relational databases (we use Postgres)
• You are proficient in at least one modern backend language (e.g. Go Python Java; we mainly use Go)
• You are very familiar with eventbased architectures and container technologies from the Docker and Kubernetes ecosystem
• You are comfortable with version control systems (git GitHub) and know the best practices of software development

Nice to have:

• You are familiar with Linux/Unix/BSD systems
• You can provide references for opensource contributions
• You have experience in technical writing and developer relations
